The exons 2-17 of mouse Cd44 gene that encode the extracellular domain were replaced by human CD44 exons 2-16 in B-hCD44 mice.
Strain specific CD44 expression analysis in heterozygous B-hCD44 mice by flow cytometry.
Splenocytes were collected from WT and heterozygous B-hCD44 (H/+) mice, and analyzed by flow cytometry with species-specific anti-CD44 antibody. Mouse CD44 was detectable in WT and heterozygous B-hCD44 mice. Human CD44 was exclusively detectable in heterozygous B-hCD44 but not WT mice.
