Gene targeting strategy for B-hMIF mice. The exons 1-3 of mouse Mif gene that encode the full-length protein were replaced by human MIF exons 1-3 in B-hMIF mice.
Strain specific MIF expression analysis in wild type (WT) mice and B-hMIF mice by ELISA. Serum were collected from WT mice (+/+) and homozygous B-hMIF mice (H/H) stimulated with LPS in vivo, and analyzed by ELISA with species-specific MIF ELISA kit. Mouse MIF was detectable in WT mice. Human MIF was exclusively detectable in homozygous B-hMIF mice (H/H) but not in WT mice (+/+) . Values are expressed as mean ± SEM. ND: not detectable.
