Gene targeting strategy for B-hCX3CR1 mice. The exon 2 of mouse Cx3cr1 gene that encodes the full-length protein was replaced by human CX3CR1 exon 2 in B-hCX3CR1 mice.
Strain specific analysis of CX3CR1 gene expression in wild type (WT) mice and B-hCX3CR1 mice by RT-PCR. Mouse Cx3cr1 mRNA was detectable only in bone marrow cells of WT mice (+/+). Human CX3CR1 mRNA was detectable only in homozygous B-hCX3CR1 mice (H/H) but not in WT mice (+/+).
